visual submissions

"TO LOVE IS TO CHANGE!", Carson Aguilar, he/him take me to this future

"TO LOVE IS TO CHANGE!" envisions a doctor who is not just happy to help you transition medically, but overjoyed. This visual submission uses the transfeminine flag, depicting joy in transition.

"Innards (Vntiřnosti)", Luci Hutník, they/them and he/him take me to this future

"Innards (Vntiřnosti)" shows that transitioning can help unlock the galaxy called "home" inside of you. Depicting dysphoria, the focus of this piece is not just the transformation, but what comes after: how we make our bodies feel like home.

literary submissions

"A Lightyear Apart", Alister de Mets, they/them

take me to this future

Milo misses someone special, but his head is in the stars. "A Lightyear Apart" explores long distance love through a mysterious futuristic science fiction setting. As the transfuture curator and sci-fi adorer, I both enjoyed the transgender love found within this piece and the elements of sci-fi, which created a future in which trans people are exploring the stars.

"Lotus Blooming", Kira Dancik, she/her

take me to this future

"Lotus Blooming" is an urban fantasy where Vren Wessex treats wounded dragons. As they help a dragon with a tragic past, they start to heal their own wounds. Fantastical and incredible, "Lotus Blooming" excels as a look at how trans people can find life wherever they go.

"Love Means What?", Brianna A. Luby, she/her

take me to this future

"Love Means What" tackles the question of love, and how one defines something so deeply personal. I particularly enjoyed the way transness is not a barrier to love, like many might think. Transness is beautiful, and ultimately, we can be love interests too.

"Body-Machine", Claire Shepherd, she/her

take me to this future

In the present, alterations to your body are often a long, expensive, and painful process. In a future, that might not be the case. "Body-Machine" discusses medical transition and the type of world which makes painless transition possible.

"Being Me", Jay McGuire, they/them

take me to this future

"Being Me" is a bold and personal statement about being transgender. Discussing the world at large, "Being Me" doesn't shy away from discussing the bad, but it also doesn't leave out the good.

"about a world", Luci Hutník, they/them and he/him

take me to this future

"about a world" takes the concept of future and spins with it, telling the reader that, yes, this future—a transfuture—is more than possible, it is within reach. Merging the tale of Icarus with a dream, about a world creates a transfuture and sets it free.

hybrid submissions

"Budding : Blooming", Max Jones, he/him take me to this future

"Budding : Blooming" links transition to plant care, showing that transness is natural. It also discusses how outside support can go a long way in helping transgender people flourish - finding joy and self-acceptance with a little help.
